ABOUT THIS WINE
The 2022 Luigi Righetti Ripasso Selezione, also known as Campolieti Valpolicella Classico Superiore Ripasso, is a red wine from the Valpolicella DOC appellation in Italy's Veneto region. Its unique identity stems from the Ripasso method, where the wine undergoes a second fermentation on the lees of dried Amarone grapes. This process enriches the wine with added depth and complexity. The Righetti family, with a winemaking history dating back to 1909, produces this wine from their estate vineyards in the Valgatara area of Valpolicella Classico. The name 'Campolieti' signifies the joyful spirit associated with their vineyards and wines.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The 2022 Luigi Righetti Ripasso is produced using the traditional Ripasso method, a key technique that involves a second fermentation. After the initial fermentation, the Valpolicella wine is re-fermented on the pomace and lees derived from the estate's Amarone production, a process that lasts for at least three days. This re-fermentation is typically carried out in stainless steel. Following this, the wine is aged in oak barrels for twelve months, a period designed to develop its texture and integrate flavors. Grapes are harvested in October, with the estate's vineyards located in the Valgatara area of Valpolicella Classico.
