ABOUT THIS WINE
Bodega Otronia, part of Alejandro Bulgheroni's Grupo Avinea, is a pioneering winery located in Sarmiento, Chubut, Patagonia, Argentina. Situated at the 45th parallel south, it is one of the world's southernmost wine-producing regions. The '45 Rugientes' (Roaring Forties) label signifies the extreme winds that characterize the Patagonian steppe. Founded with the vision to cultivate high-quality organic wines in a challenging climate, Otronia, under winemaker Juan Pablo Murgia, focuses on producing cold-climate wines that exhibit pristine freshness and distinct minerality. The 2022 Otronia 45 Rugientes Pinot Noir is a testament to this philosophy, showcasing the unique terroir of the IG Chubut.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The 2022 Otronia 45 Rugientes Pinot Noir is crafted from 100% certified organic grapes. Fermentation occurs in concrete vats utilizing spontaneous, natural yeasts. The process incorporates a significant portion of whole-cluster grapes, ranging from 10% to 50%, alongside destemmed fruit. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for 20 to 22 months, primarily in concrete vats and un-toasted French oak foudres. This aging regimen is designed to preserve the purity of the fruit and avoid an overpowering oak signature, allowing the wine's inherent freshness and minerality to shine through.
