ABOUT THIS WINE
AdegaMãe was founded in 2010 by the Alves family, pioneers of Portugal's historic codfish trade, as a tribute to the family matriarch, Manuela Alves. Located in Torres Vedras within the Lisboa wine region, the estate features a striking, modern architectural design. While the winery itself is close to the ocean, the grapes for this red reserve are sourced from selected inland vineyards in Alenquer. Sheltered by the Montejunto-Estrela mountain range, this microclimate provides the warmer conditions necessary to fully ripen red varieties while retaining the signature Atlantic freshness and salinity that defines the estate's style.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process is led by winemaker Diogo Lopes in collaboration with the renowned consultant Anselmo Mendes. Grapes undergo complete destemming followed by a two-day pre-fermentative cold maceration to gently extract color and primary fruit aromas. Fermentation takes place over approximately 15 days in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. To develop structure, complexity, and roundness, the wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels before bottling.
