ABOUT THIS WINE
Albamar Albariño is the flagship wine from Bodegas Albamar, a family-owned winery in the Rías Baixas region of Galicia, Spain. Managed by Xurxo Alba, the winery's name reflects the significant influence of the Atlantic Ocean on its vineyards and wines. The estate has a multi-generational history of Albariño cultivation, with Xurxo Alba bringing his enological expertise to the family legacy. The wine is produced from grapes grown in various plots, primarily on sandy soils with some granite influence, and the winery emphasizes minimal intervention winemaking to showcase the terroir.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The 2023 Albamar Albariño is produced from hand-harvested Albariño grapes. Fermentation occurs primarily in stainless steel vats, utilizing native yeasts, with potential fermentation in neutral oak foudres for certain components. Following fermentation, the wine undergoes aging for approximately 5-8 months on its lees in stainless steel tanks, with some neutral oak usage. The winery is increasingly adopting sustainable and organic farming practices.
