ABOUT THIS WINE
Alberelli di Giodo 2019 is a single-varietal Nerello Mascalese from Podere Giodo, a winery founded by oenologist Carlo Ferrini. Situated on the volcanic northern slopes of Mount Etna in Sicily, the wine originates from old, often ungrafted bush vines cultivated in the traditional Alberello system at an altitude of 950 meters. The vineyard's sandy-volcanic soils, rich in ash, basalt, and pumice, contribute to the wine's distinctive character. Podere Giodo is a boutique winery with an annual production of approximately 9,000 bottles, emphasizing quality and respect for the terroir.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for Alberelli di Giodo begins with fermentation in stainless steel tanks for seven days, followed by a 20-day maceration on the skins. The wine is then aged for 18 months in 500 and 700-liter French oak barrels, with a subsequent period in concrete or French oak casks. It completes its development with 12 months of bottle aging before being released. The viticultural approach involves meticulous care and sustainable practices, reflecting a philosophy of quality and terroir expression.
