ABOUT THIS WINE
Alberto Ballarin, formerly known as Cascina Ballarin, is a family-run estate located in La Morra, Piedmont, with agricultural roots dating back to 1928. The winery entered a modern renaissance under the leadership of Alberto Viberti, who focused on sustainable viticulture and precise single-vineyard expressions. The Bussia Cru in Monforte d'Alba is one of Barolo's most legendary vineyards, renowned for its amphitheater shape and clay-limestone soils that yield wines of immense power, structure, and longevity.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The grapes are entirely hand-harvested from 30 to 40-year-old vines in the Bussia Cru. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks at 28–30°C, with frequent pump-overs to manage tannin extraction. Unlike the estate's classic Barolo, the Bussia Cru is aged for 26 months in 225-liter French oak barriques, followed by an additional 8 months of bottle aging before release.
