ABOUT THIS WINE
Soalheiro Alma Loureiro is a single-varietal white wine from the Vinho Verde DOC in Portugal, specifically from the Monção e Melgaço sub-region. Produced by Quinta de Soalheiro, an iconic family-led estate founded in 1982, this wine is part of the 'Alma' project, which aims to express the pure terroir and noble grape varietal. The Loureiro grapes are sourced from vineyards in Valença, on the left bank of the Minho River, grown in poor, well-drained granite soils. This location benefits from a strong Atlantic influence, contributing to the wine's high acidity and delicate aromatics. Soalheiro is committed to the economic and ecological preservation of the Minho region, employing regenerative viticulture and supporting local producers.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Soalheiro Alma Loureiro undergoes direct whole-bunch pressing to preserve the delicate juice. The must is then cold clarified at low temperatures for 48 to 72 hours. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks at 14–16°C to maintain varietal purity. The wine is aged on its fine lees for a minimum of 6 months in stainless steel, with no oak influence, to ensure its terroir and fruit focus are paramount. This approach results in a wine of immense tension and pristine clarity.
