ABOUT THIS WINE
The Allegrini Amarone della Valpolicella Classico 2020 is a dry red wine from the Valpolicella Classico DOCG appellation in Veneto, Italy. It is produced by Allegrini, a family with a winemaking history dating back to the 16th century. The wine is made from a blend of Corvina Veronese, Corvinone, Rondinella, and Oseleta grapes, which undergo a drying process for approximately four months. This method, known as 'appassimento', concentrates the grapes' sugars and flavors before fermentation. The 2020 vintage was positively influenced by favorable September weather, contributing to the quality of the grapes harvested.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The production of Allegrini Amarone della Valpolicella Classico 2020 begins with a manual harvest and sorting of grapes in late September. The selected grapes then undergo the 'appassimento' process, where they are dried in lofts for approximately four months, losing 40-45% of their weight. Following destemming and pressing in December, fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks for 25 days with continuous pumping over. The wine is then aged in barriques for at least 18 months before resting in the bottle for seven months prior to release.
