ABOUT THIS WINE
Luigi Righetti Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is a red wine from the Veneto region of Italy, specifically the Valpolicella Classico sub-region. Its distinctive character is achieved through the traditional 'appassimento' method, where grapes are dried for an extended period to concentrate their sugars and flavors. The Righetti family, with a winemaking history dating back to 1909, is dedicated to producing quality wines that reflect the unique terroir of their estate. The name 'Capitel de Roari' signifies the oak trees found in their vineyard plots, adding a personal touch to the wine's identity.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The production of Luigi Righetti Amarone della Valpolicella Classico begins with a hand harvest of selected grapes in September. The defining technique is 'appassimento,' where the grapes are dried for approximately 3-4 months in ventilated rooms or shallow crates, concentrating their sugars and flavors. Following this, the dried grapes are pressed, and fermentation takes place according to traditional oenological practices. The wine is then aged for a minimum of two years, primarily in large oak casks, with some use of French barriques, allowing for the development of its characteristic complexity and structure.
