ABOUT THIS WINE
Amicone Rosso Veneto IGT is a red wine from the Veneto region of Italy, produced by Cantine di Ora, part of Schenk Italian Wineries. The 2017 vintage utilizes the appassimento method, where a portion of the grapes are dried to concentrate their sugars and flavors, a technique also used for Amarone. This process results in a wine that is rich and full-bodied, reflecting the winemaking traditions of the Veneto. Cantine di Ora's philosophy is to interpret and showcase the excellence of Italy's wine regions. The 2017 vintage was influenced by challenging weather conditions, potentially leading to concentrated fruit profiles.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The production of Amicone Rosso Veneto IGT involves the distinctive appassimento technique, where selected grapes are dried to concentrate their sugars and flavors before fermentation. This process is complemented by the use of overripe grapes. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks to preserve fruit intensity. Subsequently, the wine is aged for a period, up to 12 months, in large French oak barrels (tonneaux), which imparts complexity and a smooth texture. The wine is a blend of red grapes native to the Veneto, primarily Corvina, with Rondinella and Molinara also contributing to the final profile.
