ABOUT THIS WINE
Ànima Negra, established in 1994 by Pere Ignasi Obrador and Miquelàngel Cerdà, is a winery dedicated to producing wines that reflect Mallorca's unique environment and indigenous grape varieties. The ÀN/2 is a red wine from the 'Vi de la Terra Mallorca' appellation, which allows for winemaking flexibility. The grapes are sourced from old vines, often aged between 50 to 85 years, grown on dry-farmed, natural vineyards with calcareous soils. The winery's philosophy centers on natural farming and a deep respect for the land, aiming to create wines that are honest and distinctive.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The ÀN/2 Ànima Negra is produced using a blend of indigenous Mallorcan grapes, including Callet, Mantonegro, and Fogoneu, often with a proportion of Syrah. The grapes are sourced from old vines, typically aged between 50 to 85 years, cultivated using natural farming methods, including dry-farming and avoiding chemical treatments. Fermentation occurs in cement tanks with indigenous yeasts, allowing for a natural expression of the fruit. Following fermentation, the wine undergoes approximately 12 months of aging in French and American oak barriques, which contributes to its structure and complexity.
