ABOUT THIS WINE
Ànima Negra's "ÀN 2022" is a red wine from Mallorca, Spain, produced by Ànima Negra Viticultors. It primarily features the indigenous Callet grape, with smaller amounts of Manto Negro and Fogoneu. The wine is classified as Vino de la Tierra de Mallorca. The winery, established in 1994, is dedicated to showcasing the unique character of Mallorcan grape varieties and is situated on the historic Son Burguera estate. The "ÀN" is considered their flagship wine, reflecting their long-standing commitment to producing high-quality wines from local grapes. The vineyards are aged between 40 to 60 years, planted in poor soils abundant with ferric oxide, and farmed naturally using biodynamic practices.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for ÀN 2022 begins with hand-harvested and manually selected grapes from vineyards aged 40 to 60 years. The grapes are destemmed before fermentation, which takes place in 4,000-liter oak vats and concrete deposits, utilizing indigenous yeasts. Malolactic fermentation is completed in French oak barrels. The wine then undergoes aging for 14 to 18 months in new and second-year French oak barrels. Some sources indicate further aging in concrete deposits before bottling.
