ABOUT THIS WINE
The Anna-Christina Ried Bärnreiser 1ÖTW is a premium red cuvée from Weingut Franz & Christine Netzl, named in tribute to the producers' daughters. This wine represents the family's flagship blend and is sourced from the esteemed 'Ried Bärnreiser' vineyard, holding the '1ÖTW' classification, which denotes a premier cru site within Austria's Traditionsweingüter. The Netzl family, with generations of farming heritage, has focused exclusively on wine since 1980, aiming to express the elegance and character of the Carnuntum terroir. Daughter Christina Netzl has been pivotal in the winery's development, including its adoption of certified organic farming practices. Carnuntum's warm climate and the specific southern orientation of the Ried Bärnreiser vineyard contribute to the consistent ripening of the grapes, resulting in a wine with a refined structure.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The production of Anna-Christina Ried Bärnreiser 1ÖTW begins with the meticulous hand-harvesting of only ripe and healthy grapes. Fermentation is carried out in traditional wooden fermenters, allowing for a controlled development of the individual grape varietals. Following fermentation, each grape variety is aged separately for 18 months in a mix of new and used barriques. This separate aging allows the winemakers to fine-tune each component before the final blend is decided upon by the family. The winery is committed to certified organic viticulture, reflecting a dedication to sustainable practices and environmental stewardship.
