ABOUT THIS WINE
Donnafugata's Anthìlia Bianco is a white wine from the Sicilia DOC, produced by the family-owned winery Donnafugata, founded by Giacomo and Gabriella Rallo. The wine's name, Anthìlia, is derived from the ancient Roman name for the city of Entella, signifying the winery's strong ties to its Sicilian origins. The blend is led by the indigenous Lucido (Catarratto) grape, complemented by other autochthonous and international varieties such as Ansonica, Viognier, and Chardonnay. The vineyards are located in southwestern Sicily at altitudes ranging from 200 to 600 meters, on clay loam soils rich in nutrients and limestone. The 2023 vintage, despite facing challenging conditions and lower production, maintained a quality consistent with the winery's standards.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for Anthìlia Bianco begins with fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures of 14-16°C, designed to preserve the wine's aromatic freshness. After fermentation, the wine undergoes a minimum of two months of aging in tanks, followed by at least two months of bottle aging before its release. This approach aims to develop the wine's structure and ensure its harmonious integration of flavors and aromas. The grapes are typically harvested in September, with vineyard management focused on achieving optimal ripeness and maintaining the quality of the fruit.
