ABOUT THIS WINE
Antxiola is a white wine produced by Txakoli Zudugarai SAT in the Getariako Txakolina appellation of the Basque Country, Spain. The wine is named after a notable fortified home in the nearby town of Orio. The winery was established in 1989, the same year the Getariako Txakolina DO was founded, reflecting the Errasti family's long-standing connection to the region's viticulture. The family has been cultivating grapes and making wine for over four decades, focusing on native varietals. Antxiola is distinguished by its bright, crisp profile and a characteristic saline quality, often noted for its subtle natural effervescence.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Antxiola is produced using grapes from vines that are 10-40 years old, situated on clay-based hills near the Bay of Biscay. The vineyard practices are organic and entirely hand-farmed, with vines planted on slopes chosen for optimal sun exposure and wind. The grapes are hand-harvested. Vinification involves fermentation with wild yeasts in stainless steel tanks. The wine is bottled young to retain its natural effervescence. Minimal sulfur is added, with less than 10 mg/l. The wine is aged in stainless steel.
