ABOUT THIS WINE
Bodega Chacra was founded in 2004 by Piero Incisa della Rocchetta, grandson of the founder of Sassicaia. Located in the Mainqué area of the Río Negro Valley in Patagonia, the estate benefits from a cool desert environment with strong dry winds and extreme day-to-night temperature variations. Barda is crafted as the estate's accessible cuvée, produced from ungrafted Pinot Noir vines planted in 1990 alongside declassified lots from old-vine single vineyards. The estate strictly practices organic and biodynamic viticulture, utilizing snowmelt irrigation from the Andes.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Grapes are manually harvested during early morning hours. Fermentation takes place in round open concrete tanks using entirely natural, indigenous yeasts with gentle infusion extraction techniques. The blend incorporates approximately 15 percent whole cluster inclusion depending on vintage conditions. Aging occurs over 8 to 11 months in a combination of concrete tanks and French oak barrels, with a low proportion of new oak, followed by bottling without fining or filtration.
