ABOUT THIS WINE
Barolo Bricco Fiasco from Azelia is a single-vineyard wine from the historic Bricco Fiasco Cru in Castiglione Falletto, Piedmont. The vineyard, named for its flask shape, features sandy soils and exceptionally old Nebbiolo vines planted in the 1940s. Azelia, a fifth-generation family winery established in 1920, was among the first to bottle single-vineyard Barolos separately, starting with Bricco Fiasco in 1978. The 2018 vintage reflects the conditions of a challenging year, emphasizing concentration and freshness. This wine represents the estate's commitment to traditional winemaking and the unique expression of its terroir.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Barolo Bricco Fiasco is produced from 100% Nebbiolo grapes. Fermentation is initiated with indigenous yeasts and involves extended maceration on the skins for 55-60 days using the submerged cap method at 31°C. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for 24 months in large oak casks (botti) of various origins. Viticulture is practiced organically, with a focus on avoiding chemical interventions to promote healthy vines and soil. The estate produces approximately 500 cases of this wine.
