ABOUT THIS WINE
The Barolo Bricco Fiasco from Azelia is a distinguished single-vineyard wine from Castiglione Falletto in Piedmont, Italy. Produced from 100% Nebbiolo grapes, the wine originates from the historic Bricco Fiasco vineyard, established in the 1930s. Azelia, a family-run winery with a century of history, practices traditional winemaking to express the unique terroir of this steep, south-facing vineyard. The vineyard's name, 'Fiasco,' refers to its flask-like shape. This wine represents one of the earliest examples of a single-vineyard bottling in the Barolo appellation, first vinified separately in 1978.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Barolo Bricco Fiasco is crafted from Nebbiolo grapes harvested in October from vines planted in the 1930s. Fermentation and maceration on the skins last for 55-60 days using indigenous yeasts and the submerged cap method at a temperature of 31°C. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for 24 months in large casks (botti) of Slavonian, French, and Austrian origin. The vineyard is managed using practicing organic methods. Production is limited, with approximately 5,400 bottles produced for the 2020 vintage.
