ABOUT THIS WINE
Barolo Cerequio DOCG from Azienda Agricola Roberto Voerzio is a 100% Nebbiolo red wine from the Piedmont region of Italy, specifically the La Morra sub-region. The wine originates from the historic Cerequio single vineyard, known for its south-facing aspect and sandy clay soils. Roberto Voerzio, the producer, is recognized for his dedication to quality through extremely low vineyard yields and sustainable farming practices. The estate was founded in 1986 and is family-led, with Voerzio drawing inspiration from Burgundy to redefine Barolo's character. The 2018 vintage is noted for its ripeness and structure.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for Barolo Cerequio DOCG begins with meticulous vineyard management and harvest, typically in late September to early October, with multiple passes to select the best grapes. Fermentation occurs in steel tanks using indigenous yeasts, with both alcoholic and malolactic fermentations proceeding naturally. Maceration can last between 15 to 30 days for Barolo crus. The wine is then aged for 24 months in used barriques and 20 hl barrels, followed by 8 months in steel tanks and 8 months in bottle. Production volumes are kept low, with approximately 300 cases produced annually.
