ABOUT THIS WINE
Barolo Conteisa 2020 is a 100% Nebbiolo wine from Gaja, produced in the Barolo DOCG appellation of Piedmont, Italy. The grapes are sourced from the Cerequio vineyard, located in La Morra, known for its favorable microclimate and prestigious reputation for Nebbiolo cultivation. The vines in this vineyard are, on average, 60 years old. The wine's name, 'Conteisa,' is a Piedmontese dialect word for 'courtesy,' chosen by Angelo Gaja to acknowledge a historical dispute over the ownership of the hills where the cru is situated. Gaja is a historic Italian winery, founded in 1859, renowned for its significant contributions to elevating Italian wines, particularly those made from Nebbiolo, to international acclaim.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Barolo Conteisa 2020 is produced using traditional winemaking methods. Following fermentation, the wine undergoes a double refinement process. It is aged for 12 months in French oak barriques, followed by an additional 18 months in large wooden barrels. This extended period in wood is designed to contribute to the wine's structure and aging potential.
