ABOUT THIS WINE
Ciabot Berton's Barolo del Comune di La Morra is a distinguished red wine from the Barolo DOCG appellation in Piedmont, Italy. Produced exclusively from 100% Nebbiolo grapes grown in the esteemed La Morra sub-region, the wine embodies the elegance and aromatic complexity characteristic of this area. The Oberto family, with five generations of winemaking experience, crafts this Barolo with a deep respect for the territory and vintage. The estate's vineyards are situated on hillsides with favorable exposures at altitudes of 250-300 meters. The winery's name, Ciabot Berton, is inspired by a historic small building on their property, adding a unique narrative to their legacy. The 2020 and 2021 vintages are noted for their distinct qualities, with 2020 being more approachable and fruit-forward, and 2021 praised for its structure and freshness.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process at Ciabot Berton for their Barolo del Comune di La Morra begins with hand-harvested Nebbiolo grapes. Fermentation occurs in temperature-controlled concrete tanks, a traditional method that preserves the grape's inherent qualities. Following fermentation, the wine undergoes a significant aging period of at least 18 months in large Slavonian oak barrels. This is followed by a further refinement period, which for the 2021 vintage includes six months in steel vats. The wine is then aged in bottle for at least six months before release. The estate employs integrated pest management and respects biodiversity, reflecting a commitment to sustainable viticulture.
