ABOUT THIS WINE
The Bovio Barolo Gattera 2017 originates from the Gattera cru in La Morra, Piedmont. This wine is produced by Azienda Agricola Bovio Gianfranco di Bovio Alessandra, a family-run estate with a legacy spanning three generations. The vineyard's limestone and marl soils are instrumental in shaping the wine's character, and the Gattera cru is particularly noted for its capacity to produce wines of substantial structure and refined elegance. The 2017 vintage, influenced by a warm and dry season, contributes to the wine's inherent concentration and potential for aging.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Bovio Barolo Gattera 2017 is crafted from 100% Nebbiolo grapes. Harvest occurs by hand in late September. Fermentation is conducted in steel or temperature-controlled wooden vats using indigenous yeasts, with a prolonged maceration of 3-4 weeks employing the submerged cap method. Following malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged for a minimum of 38 months, including periods in oak barriques and large French oak casks, before a brief rest in concrete tanks prior to bottling.
