ABOUT THIS WINE
The Barolo Roche dell'Annunziata 2017 is produced by Roberto Voerzio from 100% Nebbiolo grapes grown in the highly regarded Rocche dell'Annunziata cru of La Morra, Piedmont. Roberto Voerzio founded his winery in 1986, adhering to organic farming methods and prioritizing natural processes. His philosophy centers on expressing the unique character of the terroir through meticulous vineyard work and exceptionally low yields. The Rocche dell'Annunziata cru is celebrated for its contribution to elegant and profound Nebbiolo wines. The 2017 vintage in Piedmont was marked by challenging weather conditions, but Voerzio's farming practices aimed to mitigate these effects.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for Barolo Roche dell'Annunziata begins with spontaneous fermentation using native yeasts in stainless steel tanks, aiming to capture the essence of the Nebbiolo grape and its origin. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for 8 to 24 months in a mix of stainless steel and French oak barrels, with a limited use of new wood (up to 30%). This approach is guided by Roberto Voerzio's philosophy of organic viticulture and minimal intervention, emphasizing natural processes and rigorous yield reduction through severe pruning and green harvests to enhance concentration and purity.
