WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for Barolo Falletto di Bruno Giacosa begins with a lengthy fermentation and maceration period of 20-25 days in stainless steel vats, designed to extract the full character of the Nebbiolo grapes. Following this, the wine undergoes complete malolactic fermentation. The wine is then aged for approximately 30 months in large French oak casks (botti), a traditional method that allows for slow integration and development. A further six months of bottle aging precedes its release, ensuring further refinement before it reaches the consumer. The 2019 harvest occurred around October 16th, benefiting from a spring that provided adequate water for the vines.
