ABOUT THIS WINE
The Barolo Falletto di Bruno Giacosa 2018 is a 100% Nebbiolo from the Barolo DOCG in Piedmont, Italy. It originates from the renowned Falletto vineyard located in Serralunga d'Alba, a site recognized for producing wines of significant character. The wine is produced by Azienda Agricola Falletto, continuing the legacy of Bruno Giacosa, a celebrated winemaker known for his traditional approach and deep understanding of the Langhe vineyards. His philosophy centered on creating wines built for long aging, a principle upheld by his daughter, Bruna Giacosa, who now manages the estate. WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Barolo Falletto di Bruno Giacosa 2018 is produced from 100% Nebbiolo grapes. Following hand-harvesting on October 10, 2018, the grapes undergo fermentation in stainless steel vats for 25 days, with malolactic fermentation occurring completely. The wine is then aged for 30 months in large French oak casks (botti), followed by an additional 6 months of bottle aging. This process emphasizes traditional techniques to foster the wine's development and aging potential.
