ABOUT THIS WINE
Barolo Fossati is a distinguished wine from Azienda Agricola Roberto Voerzio, located in the La Morra sub-region of Piedmont, Italy. The estate, established in 1986, is renowned for its rigorous vineyard practices, particularly its extremely low grape yields. This approach is central to Voerzio's winemaking philosophy, aiming to capture the purest expression of the Nebbiolo grape and the unique terroir of the Fossati cru. The 2018 vintage benefited from generally favorable weather conditions in Piedmont.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for Barolo Fossati begins with meticulous vineyard management, including manual harvesting and selection. Fermentation utilizes indigenous yeasts and lasts around 15 days, with skin contact not exceeding one month. After alcoholic fermentation, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in stainless steel. Aging takes place in French oak barriques and botti for at least two years, with a philosophy of limiting new oak usage to less than 30%.
