ABOUT THIS WINE
The Manzone Barolo Gramolere 2018 is a 100% Nebbiolo wine from the Barolo DOCG appellation in Piedmont, Italy. Produced by Azienda Agricola Giovanni Manzone, a family winery with a history dating back to 1925, this wine originates from the Gramolere vineyard in Monforte d'Alba. This site is characterized by steep slopes, a south-southwest exposure, and stony, calcareous soil with abundant fossils. The 2018 vintage is noted for its supple and aromatic qualities, offering a more approachable style. The Manzone philosophy emphasizes traditional, terroir-driven winemaking with minimal intervention, respecting the land and allowing the vineyard's unique identity to be expressed.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Manzone Barolo Gramolere 2018 is produced using 100% Nebbiolo grapes. The winemaking process begins with spontaneous fermentation in steel tanks, followed by a maceration period of 30-40 days with soft pumping over. The wine is then aged for 30 months in neutral oak casks (botti), followed by a period in concrete tanks for natural decantation. Minimal sulfur is added, and the wine is bottled unfiltered and unclarified. Sustainable farming practices are employed in the vineyard.
