ABOUT THIS WINE
Established in 1986 in the commune of La Morra, Azienda Agricola Roberto Voerzio has achieved legendary status in Piedmont. Roberto Voerzio's philosophy centers on the belief that the finest wines are born from the healthiest, lowest-yielding vines. The estate is famous for its obsessive vineyard management, including radical green harvesting that limits yields to an astonishingly low 500 grams of fruit per vine. The La Serra vineyard is situated at a high elevation of 340 to 430 meters on Tortonian-era compact marls, clay, and sand. This specific 2007 vintage represents a legendary expression where the warm growing season perfectly complemented the cooler, high-altitude terroir of the La Serra Cru, resulting in a wine of historic power and critical acclaim, including a perfect 100-point score.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process at Roberto Voerzio is designed to preserve the pure expression of the terroir. Following meticulous hand-harvesting and strict selection, fermentation is carried out in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks using only indigenous yeasts. To maintain the natural integrity of the fruit, roto-fermenters are avoided. The wine undergoes spontaneous malolactic fermentation. It is aged for 24 months in a combination of used French oak barriques and 15-hectoliter large oak casks (botti). After wood aging, the wine spends 8 months in stainless steel tanks, followed by an additional 6 to 8 months of bottle aging before release. In line with Voerzio's minimalist cellar philosophy, the wine is bottled strictly unfined and unfiltered.
