ABOUT THIS WINE
The Barolo Parussi 2020 is a distinguished Italian red wine from the Piedmont region, crafted from 100% Nebbiolo grapes. It is an official Barolo DOCG, produced by the historic Massolino family winery. This particular bottling comes from the Parussi vineyard, located in Castiglione Falletto, which is unique for Massolino as it is their sole single-vineyard expression from this sub-region, contrasting with their other crus situated in Serralunga d'Alba. The vineyard benefits from an altitude of 290 meters and a soil composition of mixed consistency, including sandy limestone and iron-rich Sant'Agata marls, which are lighter and more oxygenated than those found in Serralunga. The vines in Parussi average 40-45 years of age. The 2020 vintage is characterized by a warm growing season, which contributed to the production of well-balanced, fruity, fresh, and elegant wines. Massolino is a family-run estate founded in 1896, known for its traditional winemaking philosophy, focusing on elegance, structure, and the long aging potential of their wines.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Massolino Barolo Parussi 2020 is produced using traditional Barolo winemaking methods. The grapes undergo fermentation in oak fermenters ('tini') at temperatures around 30°C, with a long maceration period to extract key components. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for up to 30 months in large Slavonian oak casks (tonneau). It then benefits from approximately one year of bottle maturation in cool cellars before its release. The winery's viticultural approach is described as being close to nature.
