ABOUT THIS WINE
La Spinetta Vürzù Barolo Campe' 2008 is a 100% Nebbiolo from the Barolo DOCG in Piedmont, Italy, specifically from the Grinzane Cavour sub-region. The wine originates from the Vigneto Campe' vineyard, located at 280 meters elevation with calcareous clayey soil. The vines in this vineyard are approximately 70 years old and face south. La Spinetta acquired the vineyard in 2000 and implemented rigorous green harvesting, significantly reducing yields to enhance fruit quality. The producer, La Spinetta, was founded in 1977 by the Rivetti family, initially focusing on Moscato d'Asti before expanding into red wines. The 2008 vintage is noted for its elegance and balance.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The grapes for La Spinetta Vürzù Barolo Campe' 2008 are harvested in early to mid-October. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled vats for 14-15 days, followed by malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels. The wine is then aged for 24 months in French oak, with varying percentages of new oak used. A minimum of 12 months of bottle aging follows before the wine is released. La Spinetta employs rigorous green harvesting and organic farming practices, including fertilization with horse manure and extensive manual vineyard work, aiming to produce wines with purity and character.
