ABOUT THIS WINE
Bodega Norton was founded in 1895 by Sir Edmund James Palmer Norton, an English engineer who fell in love with Mendoza's terroir while building the Trans-Andean railway. In 1989, the estate was acquired by the Swarovski family, who modernized the winery while preserving its historic soul. Sourced from high-altitude vineyards at 950 meters above sea level in Mendoza, the 'Barrel Select' range represents a harmonious balance between the intense mountain fruit of the Andes and elegant, measured oak aging. Under the guidance of renowned chief winemaker David Bonomi, this estate-bottled Malbec showcases the unique high-altitude terroir of Mendoza with exceptional purity and accessibility.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The grapes are 100% hand-harvested in small plastic boxes to preserve fruit integrity. Following careful selection, fermentation takes place with selected yeasts for 10 days at a controlled temperature of 25°C, followed by a 10-day maceration period. The wine undergoes 100% natural malolactic fermentation. To achieve the perfect balance of wood-aged complexity and fresh fruit character, a dual-aging method is employed: 50% of the wine is aged in second-use French oak barrels for 3 months, while the remaining 50% is kept in concrete vats before final blending and bottling.
