ABOUT THIS WINE
Maison Louis Jadot, founded in 1859 in Beaune, is historically synonymous with the great terroirs of Burgundy's Côte d'Or. However, they were also pioneers in recognizing the premium potential of Beaujolais. In 1998, they established the dedicated Combe aux Jacques winery near Brouilly to focus on high-quality vinification of the Gamay grape. A key differentiator for this cuvée is Jadot's use of the 'replis' method, where grapes from superior Cru Beaujolais villages are declassified and blended into this Beaujolais-Villages, elevating its complexity and structure far beyond standard regional offerings.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Grapes are handpicked as whole bunches from hillside vineyards rich in granite, sand, and manganese. The winemaking balances traditional Burgundian whole-cluster fermentation with elements of semi-carbonic maceration. An extended maceration of approximately 14 days, with a portion of the crop destemmed, maximizes color and aromatic extraction while keeping tannins soft. Uniquely, Jadot purchases whole grapes rather than juice to maintain strict quality control. The wine is matured entirely in stainless steel vats to preserve its fresh, vibrant fruit character, with no oak contact.
