ABOUT THIS WINE
Maison Louis Jadot, established in Beaune in 1859, is one of Burgundy's most historic and revered houses. This Beaujolais-Villages represents their commitment to the region, sourcing grapes from the rolling hills of northern Beaujolais where decomposed pink granite, schist, and sand soils dominate. To elevate this village-level wine, Jadot utilizes the 'replis' method, blending in a portion of grapes from higher-tier Cru villages like Morgon and Fleurie, resulting in a wine of unexpected depth, structure, and character.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Unlike many producers in Beaujolais who use carbonic maceration, Louis Jadot employs traditional Burgundian vinification. At their dedicated Combe aux Jacques winery, a large portion of the hand-harvested Gamay grapes are destemmed before undergoing an extended 14-day maceration in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. This process extracts deeper color and structured tannins. The wine is then aged on its fine lees for several months in stainless steel tanks, completely avoiding oak to preserve its vibrant, fresh fruit profile.
