WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for the Beaulieu Vineyard Rutherford Reserve begins with hand-picked grapes from BV's Rutherford estate vineyards. The grapes are destemmed and undergo a seven-day cold soak for gentle extraction of color and tannins. Fermentation lasts for 8-12 days with the use of pump-overs for skin integration. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for 21 months in 100% French oak barrels, with 80% of these being new. The 2019 vintage was characterized by a later start due to weather patterns, leading to a cool, slow maturation period.
