ABOUT THIS WINE
Weingut Feiler-Artinger, located in the historic Baroque town of Rust on Lake Neusiedl in Burgenland, Austria, has been family-run since 1936. The estate has a deep historical connection to the Neuburger grape; in 1915, Johann Feiler was the first winemaker in Rust to plant a single-varietal Neuburger vineyard. Today, Kurt Feiler champions this demanding, low-yielding autochthonous Austrian variety, cultivating it biodynamically under strict respekt-BIODYN standards. Sourced from the limestone and slate soils of the Leithaberg DAC, this wine represents a dedication to preserving regional heritage and showcasing the unique terroir of the Ruster Hügelland.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The grapes are 100% selectively hand-harvested. In the cellar, the winemaking follows low-intervention principles. The juice undergoes spontaneous fermentation using only native, wild yeasts in neutral, used small French oak barrels (barriques). Both alcoholic and full malolactic fermentations are completed in these barrels. The wine is then matured on its fine lees for five to six months prior to bottling, adding texture and complexity. Minimal sulfur dioxide is added, and the wine is bottled with light filtration using natural bentonite clay.
