ABOUT THIS WINE
Schenk Italian Wineries, founded in 1952, created the Boccantino range to celebrate and express the diverse oenological heritage of Italy's southern and central regions. This wine represents the Abruzzo region, utilizing grapes grown in hillside vineyards situated between the high peaks of the Apennine Mountains and the Adriatic Sea. It aims to offer an accessible, modern, and fruit-forward expression of the native Montepulciano grape, avoiding the rustic or overly astringent profile sometimes found in traditional styles.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Grapes are manually harvested in mid-to-late October at optimum phenolic ripeness. Upon arrival at the cellar, they are destemmed and softly pressed. Fermentation occurs in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with skin contact for 10 to 15 days at 28-30 degrees Celsius to extract color and soft tannins. The wine is aged entirely in stainless steel tanks to preserve its fresh, primary fruit-forward profile before bottling.
