ABOUT THIS WINE
Bodega Son Antem Vespre is a red wine from the IGP Mallorca appellation, produced by Bodega Son Antem. Founded by Johan and Malin Lidby, the winery aims to create artisanal wines reflecting Mallorca's heritage. The wine's name, 'Vespre,' signifies 'evening' in the local dialect. The 2022 vintage experienced a balanced growing season with significant rainfall early on, followed by dry, sunny conditions and a hot summer, leading to a late summer harvest. The grapes are sourced from vineyards with diverse soil compositions, including iron-rich clay, limestone, marl, and chalky, stony soils, at altitudes ranging from 155 to 225 meters. The estate's farming practices are organic, with certification achieved in September 2022.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Bodega Son Antem Vespre 2022 is produced from Syrah and Monastrell grapes. For the Syrah, 75% of the grapes were destemmed, while the Monastrell was fully destemmed. The grapes were fermented separately in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks using natural yeast for 15-17 days, with pump-overs and punch-downs. Following fermentation, the wine was aged partly in a 3000-liter Austrian oak foudre and partly in a new 500-liter Swiss oak barrel. The blend was finalized, and the wine was bottled unfiltered in June 2023. The estate's farming practices are organic, with certification achieved in September 2022.
