ABOUT THIS WINE
The Boscarelli Prugnolo Rosso di Montepulciano is a red wine from Tuscany's Montepulciano sub-region. It is crafted from Sangiovese (locally known as Prugnolo Gentile) and Mammolo grapes, with the selection focusing on fruit from younger vines. Poderi Boscarelli, a family winery established in 1962, is dedicated to producing high-quality Sangiovese-based wines. The estate's vineyards are situated around 300 meters above sea level on southeast-facing slopes, with soils of alluvial origin comprising calcareous elements, sand, silt, and clay. The winery is a founding member of the Alliance Vinum, an organization promoting the quality of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Boscarelli Prugnolo Rosso di Montepulciano is produced using grapes selected from young vines. Fermentation takes place in steel vats with indigenous yeast for approximately one week at controlled temperatures of 28-30°C, with a short manual re-passing of the must and pomace. After fermentation, the wine ages for several months in vitrified cement vats, undergoing malolactic fermentation. Prior to bottling, the wine is lightly filtered. The grapes are harvested manually.
