ABOUT THIS WINE
Clay Creek Vineyards is a sustainably-minded label operated by Delicato Family Wines, a pioneering family-owned wine company founded in 1924 by Sicilian immigrant Gaspare Indelicato. With over a century of farming history in California, three generations of the Indelicato family have managed these vineyards. The 'C•V' designation represents the signature brand mark of Clay Creek Vineyards. Sourced primarily from the cooler Clarksburg AVA in the Sacramento Delta, this wine benefits from heavy morning fog and strong maritime winds, which help the grapes retain natural acidity and bright fruit aromatics during the ripening process.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for the C•V Chardonnay focuses on balancing fresh fruit character with subtle oak complexity. Primary fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve crisp varietal definition and vibrant acidity. Following fermentation, a portion of the wine undergoes aging in French and American oak barrels. This partial oak regimen introduces creamy textures and sweet baking spice notes without overwhelming the bright tropical and stone fruit characteristics of the Chardonnay grape.
