ABOUT THIS WINE
Ca' Brione Nino Negri Alpi Retiche Bianco is an IGT white wine from Lombardy's Valtellina region, produced by Nino Negri. Its uniqueness stems from being a white wine vinified from red Nebbiolo grapes, a distinctive practice in this area. The wine's character is profoundly influenced by its origin in the Rhaetian Alps, where the soil's geological history, marked by the collision of African and European tectonic plates, contributes significant minerality and elegance. Nino Negri, founded in 1897, is a renowned producer in Valtellina, known for its commitment to quality and its deep understanding of the local terroir.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Ca' Brione Nino Negri Alpi Retiche Bianco is produced using a unique method of white vinification applied to red Nebbiolo grapes, a distinctive technique for the Valtellina region. Following hand-harvesting, the Nebbiolo grapes undergo soft pressing with immediate skin separation. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures of approximately 18°C. For the Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Incrocio Manzoni components, some sources indicate fermentation in French oak barriques, with a mix of new and used barrels. Following fermentation, the wine is aged in stainless steel tanks on its fine lees for a minimum of six months. This aging process aims to build complexity and texture while maintaining the wine's freshness.
