ABOUT THIS WINE
The Cairanne La Bousquette 2022 is a red wine from the Cairanne AOC Cru des Côtes du Rhône in France's Southern Rhône Valley. Produced by Domaine Roche, the wine is a blend primarily featuring Grenache, with contributions from Carignan and Syrah. The 'La Bousquette' vineyard is distinguished by its old vines, some exceeding 80 years of age, situated on the 'La Montagne' terroir with its characteristic gray clay, gravel limestone, and sandy-clay soils. Domaine Roche has transitioned to sustainable and organic farming, with 2022 marking their first organically certified vintage. Romain Roche leads the estate, continuing a winemaking tradition dating back to the 17th century, with a focus on expressing the typicity of Cairanne and the vineyard's character through minimal intervention.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Cairanne La Bousquette 2022 is produced using hand-harvested grapes that are selected in the vineyard. Each varietal is fermented separately in temperature-controlled concrete tanks (24-26°C) for 20 to 30 days, employing proprietary yeasts. Post-fermentation, Grenache is aged in concrete tanks, while Syrah and Carignan mature in stainless steel tanks for a period of 6 to 8 months. The winemaking process deliberately avoids the use of oak, aiming to highlight the pure expression of the fruit.
