ABOUT THIS WINE
Camino de Navaherreros 2023 is a red wine from Bodegas Bernabeleva, located in the Vinos de Madrid D.O. within the Sierra de Gredos. This wine is primarily made from Garnacha Tinta, with a smaller proportion of Cariñena, from vines aged between 25 and 80 years old. The vineyards are situated at high altitudes, between 600 and 830 meters, on granitic soils. The winery, Bodegas Bernabeleva, was established in 1923 and is currently managed by the fourth generation of the founding family. The wine's name, 'Camino de Navaherreros,' is inspired by the winery's bear logo, symbolizing strength and nature. The wine is produced with a philosophy of minimal intervention, respecting the natural environment and the unique terroir.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Camino de Navaherreros 2023 is produced using a minimal intervention approach. The grapes are hand-harvested and undergo maceration for approximately 25-30 days, with a proportion of whole clusters included. Fermentation takes place in a combination of stainless steel, concrete, and large wooden vats, often with indigenous yeasts. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for 6 to 10 months in large, older French oak barrels (5000-10000 liters) and stainless steel. The wine is bottled without filtering or stabilizing.
