ABOUT THIS WINE
The Campinuovi Montecucco Sangiovese Riserva 2019 is a red wine from Tuscany's Montecucco DOCG. Produced by CAMPINUOVI SOCIETA' SEMPLICE SOCIETA' AGRICOLA, it is primarily Sangiovese, with Colorino, Pugnitello, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon also present. The estate, founded in 2000, is committed to organic and biodynamic farming, with vineyards located on hillsides at 350-450 meters altitude. The wine's distinctiveness is attributed to its biodynamic cultivation, the Montecucco terroir influenced by Mount Amiata, and the stringent aging requirements for a Riserva designation.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for Campinuovi Montecucco Sangiovese Riserva involves traditional red wine vinification with a focus on the Riserva designation. The grapes undergo a long maceration on their skins, with fermentation occurring in tronconic vats made of Slavonian oak. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for a minimum of 24 months in French oak barriques, sourced from Allier and Never, and then rests for at least 6 months in bottle before release. The estate has been certified organic since 2000 and has practiced biodynamic agriculture since 2006.
