WINE MAKING PROCESS
The De Krans Cape Vintage Reserve 2019 is made from Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, and Tinta Barocca grapes. The vines are trellised and utilize micro-irrigation. Grapes are handpicked at high ripeness levels. Vinification involves destemming and crushing, followed by spontaneous fermentation in an open concrete fermenter. Fermentation is stopped by the addition of alcohol to the must. After pressing the skins, the wine is matured in large oak vats for 20 months.
