ABOUT THIS WINE
Cerbaiona is a legendary cult estate in Montalcino, founded in 1977 by Diego Molinari, a retired Alitalia commercial pilot, and his wife Nora. Determined to craft a wine of uncompromising, historic character, Diego planted his small vineyard using cuttings sourced from Biondi-Santi. Situated on a steep, high-altitude ridge on the northeast shoulder of Montalcino, the estate is celebrated for its remarkable Burgundian elegance, often compared to the finest estates of the Côte de Nuits. The 2013 vintage holds immense historical significance as the absolute final Brunello di Montalcino bottled and completed under Diego Molinari's direct, original stewardship before the estate's sale in late 2015.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for the 2013 vintage reflects traditional, low-intervention methods. Grapes were harvested 100% manually from high-altitude vineyards planted on Galestro soils. Spontaneous fermentation occurred in open-top vertical wooden vats and cement tanks using only indigenous yeasts, without commercial enzymes or temperature control. Extraction was kept gentle with minimal racking and manual punch-downs. The wine was aged for approximately 30 months in large, neutral Slavonian oak casks (botti grandi) ranging from 10HL to 20HL, crafted by Pauscha. It was bottled unfined and unfiltered, preserving its natural structure.
