ABOUT THIS WINE
The Chambolle-Musigny 2022 from Jean-Claude Boisset is a red wine from Burgundy, France, made from 100% Pinot Noir. It is an expression of the Chambolle-Musigny AOC, a small and highly parcelled appellation in the Côte de Nuits. The wine is a cuvée composed of grapes from four specific 'climats': 'Les pas de chats', 'Derrière le four', 'Le Clos de L'Orme', and 'Les Danguerrins'. The vines, with an average age of 49 years, have been cultivated using organic viticulture practices since 2009. The 2022 vintage was noted for its drought conditions, which yielded high-quality grapes and a smooth winemaking process.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking for Chambolle-Musigny Jean Claude Boisset 2022 begins with hand-harvested and sorted grapes. A portion of the grapes (35%) are destemmed but left whole. The wine undergoes an 18-day maceration, including 3 days of cold maceration at 12°C, using only indigenous yeasts for fermentation with no additives. Sulfur-free vinification and bioprotection are employed at vatting, with three punchings of the cap during fermentation. The wine is aged on its lees for 15 months without racking, utilizing 38% new French oak barrels toasted at low temperatures for a long duration. Bottling is done by gravity in January 2024, with the wine being unfined and very lightly filtered.
