ABOUT THIS WINE
Champagne Tarlant is a family estate with a rich history dating back to 1687, now led by the twelfth generation, Benoît and Mélanie Tarlant. Their philosophy is deeply rooted in respect for the terroir, employing sustainable and biodynamic farming practices across their 14 hectares of vineyards in the Vallée de la Marne. The Zéro Brut Nature cuvée, a particular obsession for Benoît, stands out as a testament to their commitment to unadorned terroir, representing 70-90% of their total production. This distinctive Champagne is sourced from four villages: Oeuilly, Boursault, Celles-lès-Condé, and Saint-Agnan, and uniquely incorporates all seven permitted Champagne grape varieties.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Tarlant family cultivates 14 hectares of vineyards across 63 parcels, with an average vine age of 40 years, all farmed organically and certified. Grapes are hand-harvested, and each parcel is vinified separately. The winemaking process involves direct pressing of whole grape clusters, followed by spontaneous fermentation in Burgundian barrels. Malolactic fermentation is generally avoided to preserve freshness and acidity. The wine is unfined and unfiltered, then aged for six months in barrels on its lees before blending. A significant 40% of reserve wines are incorporated into the blend, followed by a long aging period on the lees in the bottle (sur lattes). This Champagne is a 'Zéro Dosage' wine, meaning no sugar is added post-disgorgement.
