ABOUT THIS WINE
Domaine Albert Boxler is a legendary estate in Alsace, France, renowned globally for its exceptional white wines. The Chasselas, a rare and declassified planting in Alsace, pays homage to the Boxler family's Swiss heritage, as Chasselas is Switzerland's flagship white grape. This particular bottling comes from the steep, granitic hillsides of Niedermorschwihr, where the vines average 45-50+ years old, yielding naturally low volumes. The estate practices organic viticulture, though it is not officially certified. The 2022 vintage, a warmer and more solar year in Alsace, provided a generous fruit profile while retaining the wine's signature minerality and freshness. The distinctive art label has been unchanged since 1946, a tribute to the estate's first commercial bottling.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Chasselas grapes are 100% manually harvested from old vines averaging 45-50+ years old, grown on steep granitic slopes. The wine undergoes spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts, followed by slow pressing and cold settling of the juice. Vinification and aging occur in large, neutral oak casks known as foudres, typically for around 11 months on fine lees. The wine is never fined and receives minimal sulfur intervention. The 2022 vintage benefited from a warmer growing season, resulting in a slightly rounder fruit profile while maintaining its essential mineral freshness and acidity.
