WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process at Château de Fieuzal involves parcel-by-parcel vinification, with grapes fermented in both stainless steel and oak vats, depending on the varietal. Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot are fermented in steel, while Merlot and Cabernet Franc utilize oak vats. Following fermentation, the wine undergoes aging in French oak barrels for 14 to 18 months, with a portion of new oak used. The estate practices sustainable agriculture, with ongoing conversion to organic methods. The harvest for the red blend in 2021 took place from late September to mid-October.
