ABOUT THIS WINE
Château de Pibarnon 2019 is a red wine from the AOC Bandol in Provence, France. The estate is situated on the highest slopes of Bandol, benefiting from a unique microclimate with cool nights and sea breezes that promote slow ripening. The vineyards are planted on terraces with soils composed of fossil-rich limestone, clay, and blue marl. The wine is primarily made from Mourvèdre (90%) with a small addition of Grenache (10%). Founded in 1977 by Henri and Catherine de Saint-Victor, Château Pibarnon emphasizes minimal intervention in its winemaking to express the terroir. The high percentage of Mourvèdre is a defining characteristic of the estate's style.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Château de Pibarnon 2019 is produced from hand-harvested grapes. Alcoholic fermentation is spontaneous, utilizing indigenous yeasts and taking place in stainless steel tanks over approximately three weeks. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for 20 months in large, neutral oak foudres (2,500 liters) and French oak barrels (450 liters). The estate employs certified organic farming practices, with some biodynamic principles also applied.
